Roller Coaster Skating

So, who wants to go next?

Last month I wrote an article about a guy who built a suit with roller blades that allowed him to skate while laying down at about 80mph on a long winding road only inches off the ground which is very awesome. Now here is something just as awesome and even more dangerous.

Now days everyone is looking for the ultimate roller coaster ride, we’ve built giant steel coasters and there are even some giant wooden roller coaster. We look for the biggest drops, loops and rolls and with steel coasters that is what they have given us and the wooden one give us big drops and tight turn and lots of speed. So with all that you would think we’ve done it all ………….. NOPE !!!

Well there is a guy who was not happy with just dips, rolls and loops, so what did he do? He put on a pair of roller skates and skated down a Roller coaster for a half mile at speeds over 60 mph and reaching 3G’s, meet Dirk Auerv. OK maybe these were special built skates and you can’t find them in any Walmart or Target store. But even if you could find a pair, where would you use them just look at them they are huge and most likely weigh about 6 to 10 pounds each.

So how did he do it? Well the first thing he did was to spend over 110 hours designing and building a special pair of skates that would run on a wooden roller coaster. Each skate has about 16 wheels which are designed to hold the skate onto the wooden tracks.

It is a fair bet that this won’t be found in any amusement park, but it’s so cool. So as with anything extreme like this there are bound to be risks, so what risks did Mr. Auerv face? Well from what I read the biggest problem would come from nails. Because the roller coaster was wooden the chance of a nail not being flush was a real possibility along with track not being even. All of these could be enough to stop a wheel and send him crashing into the track. The other thing that could be a problem is the G Forces he would have to deal with, this would be one problem he would not have any control over and could force him into a crash that could seriously hurt him or worse yet kill him.

So, did he make it??? Well watch the video below and see for yourself. One thing is for sure this guy is living Life’s greatest Adventures.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY

I just wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a Happy thanksgiving. As we all sit around the dinner table thinking of all the things we are thankful for, Family, Friends, A job, A place to live, the food on the table that we are about to eat, let's not forget to give thanks for those who are and have served in our military to protect our way of life. Also let's not forget all the Police and fire fighters that are working today to keep us all safe.

Happy thanksgiving everyone

DRL: Drone racing league

I wrote this article awhile back, and I must say Drone racing has really gotten even bigger. So I thought I would share this article with all of you.

That's right the drone now has a racing league, those things we all love to fly is now growing into a major sport.

Although the sport is only about two years old it is growing very fast, and with sponsors like ESPN, Disney XD and the Air Force to name a few, it's a good bet this new sport will be around for awhile.

Now, before you rush out to buy a drone to race in the DRL, you should know that they only allow their drones which they make to be raced. According to the CEO of DRL this is done so it's a level playing field and everyone has a chance. Here is a video of the CEO of DRL and what he had to say.

When it comes to drones, I for one would love to race a drone. Now you don't have to join the DRL to race, just buy your own drone and then go someplace safe and race it or get with friends and everyone can race.

Sleeping

America, what will we miss

Well, here it is, my newest digital remix art piece. This was a hard one to do, not because of the technical stuff, but because of the song that inspired this piece. The song really seems to hit me hard.

Title: Sleeping
Inspired by: Casting Crowns / While you were sleeping

Story: The story is simple, just look at the lyrics towards the end of the song:

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping
United States of America
Looks like another silent night

Watch Out Flash, There's a New Super Hero on the Scene (Sort of)!

The Flash, Superman, Spider-Man – we've all got our favorite superheroes. But what if I told you there's a new contender for the title of "fastest man alive," and they're not from a comic book? Forget capes and lasers, this hero is all about hard plastic, rollerblades, and a serious need for speed.

I stumbled upon this incredible feat of human ingenuity while searching for new and extreme sports. Apparently, a daredevil in Europe has created a hard plastic suit with rollerblades attached, allowing him to "fly" down roads at incredibly high speeds, just
inches from the ground. Reports suggest he's reached speeds of up to 80 mph, passing cars and trucks like they're standing still. The videos are mind-blowing!

My initial reaction, like many, was: "How do you stop?" One video showcased a technique that skiers would recognize as "snow plowing." While it doesn't look overly complicated, it's clear that you need a decent amount of space to slow down, especially at those kinds of speeds.

This is the ultimate combination of skateboarding, rollerblading, and street luge. Imagine the rush of being that close to the ground, propelled forward at such an incredible pace. It must be one of the most exhilarating feelings imaginable.

Frankly, it's mind-bogglingly extreme. This is undoubtedly one of the most amazing things I've come across in the realm of action sports. It's so incredibly cool that it's instantly shot to the top of my "things to try" list (though maybe I'll start with something a little less intense first!).

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush like no other, keep an eye out for this incredible new sport. The future of extreme sports may just be zooming past you at 80 mph, and it's definitely one to watch!
